In 2000 an orphanage was founded in the remote region of Kiserian, Tanzania. A foundation was founded. The orphanage is completely dependend on gifts. At the start there where 5 children, right now there are 41. A lot has been created already: e.g. 2 sleeping wards, a kitchen, vegatable garden, 3 classrooms and toilets and showers. There is no electricity, also no power lines are nearby. There is a need for this however.The placement of a small wind generator and a few solar cells together with converters and batteries to generate the own needs and that of the local health post. Persons from the orphanage will be educated to the technical skills to be able to make small repairs and keep the system running them selfs. Electricity will contribute to a structural improvement of the living standard and future of the orphanes. Durable energy will protect the environment of the local communcity. |
